Fr. Edwin Neufeld M. Div, J.C.L.

Fr. Edwin Neufeld was born October 16, 1960 in Quesnel, BC, the son of Albert and Helen (Bese) Neufeld. His father died August 9, 2009. He has five siblings: three brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Chilliwack Senior Secondary School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Seminary of Christ the King in Mission and his Master of Divinity degree from Newman Theological College in Edmonton.

Fr. Neufeld was ordained on June 29, 1998 for the Diocese of Nelson, BC. He served as assistant pastor of Immaculate Conception in Kelowna. He studied in Rome from 2000 to 2002, receiving a licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.) from the Pontifical Gregorian University. He then served as pastor in Nakusp (and missions) and then as pastor in Rossland/Fruitvale. He also served as chancellor of the Diocese of Nelson from 2002 to 2005. From 2005 to 2010 he worked in association with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter serving in their apostolates in Idaho, California, Ohio, Ontario and Alberta.

In 2010 Fr. Neufeld came to Archdiocese of Vancouver and served as the assistant pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption, Port Coquitlam until his assigned as administrator of Church of the Assumption, Powell River in September 2011. He was then appointed as pastor in July 2012 and served there until being reassigned as assistant pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption, Port Coquitlam in July 2014.
